Advisory Committees
Boards, Commissions & Committees
Boards and Commissions differ from Committees in that Boards and Commissions have legal authority and Committees don't. "Committees" generally refers to Council Advisory Committees, but Boards and Commissions may also appoint committees to address specific areas of concern. Committees may only make recommendations to the group that formed them - they have no independent authority to approve or direct issues.
Board of Adjustment
The Board of Adjustment consists of five members, each appointed for 3 year terms. There are two alternates who should regularly attend the meetings, but vote will only in the absence of a regular member.
The Board of Adjustment meets the first Monday of the month in the Council chambers at City Hall at 5:30 P. M.

The Planning Commission consist of nine members: The mayor, or his or her designee, one of the administrative officials of the municipality selected by the mayor, a member of the Council to be selected by it as a member ex officio and six persons who are appointed by the mayor.
The Planning Commission meets the third Tuesday of the month in the Council chambers at City Hall at 5:30 P. M.
