At the May 27th, Tuesday night Valley City Council meeting, City Administrator Tim Bryan presented Sheila Still, City of Valley Events Coordinator, with a Certificate of Excellence. Sheila was recognized for her tireless work in planning, organizing, promoting, and implementing the City's first Valley Day on the River. The event was an overwhelming success with approximately 8,000 vendors, artists, citizens, musicians, business owners, seniors, children, and visitors to our community enjoyed a day-long event full of fun, food, and fellowship centered around a sanctioned Bar-B-Que Cookoff contest sponsored by the Florida BBQ Association. (FBA) Great job Sheila!

 

Mayor Arnold Leak presented Senior Center Manage Diane Jones with a proclamation that proclaimed May as "Older Americans Month".  The Mayor urged all Valley citizens to join in this observance, realizing that it is imperative that we make use of the vital resources our Older American citizens provide. A large number of Seniors were present at the Council Meeting.

 

 

Valley High School Band Director Shannon Chandler was presented a Recognition of Achievement for the VHS Band for distinguishing itself throughout the 2007-2008 school year by numerous appearances and serving as ambassadors for the city and school district.  Mayor Leak presented the official recognition of achievement on behalf of the numerous students, parents, school staff, and band boosters of the City of Valley.
