With cooperation from 'Mother Nature', the City of Valley's 2nd Annual Flashlight Egg Hunt held Saturday, March 15th, at Ram Stadium was a great success. According to Shelia Still of the City of Valley Parks and Recreation Department, 386 kids hunted eggs Saturday night. With each of them bringing at least one parent and some bringing brothers and sisters, over 800 people were on hand for the yearly event.
Knology passed out flashlights to the first 400 kids who then hunted over 8,000 eggs that were all filled with candy. In addition to the candy, 650 eggs contained novelty prizes and 2 contained grand prizes of new bicycles, won by Faith Williams and Blake Barron. The Grand Prize Bicycles were donated by Carey Carroll of Carroll Video Productions. Langdale United Methodist Church passed out prizes and Carroll Video Productions filmed the event.
Special thanks to Knology, Langdale United Methodist Church, and Carroll Video Productions for sponsoring the event and for all the staff and volunteers who gave of their time and energy to make the 2nd Annual Flashlight Egg Hunt a great success!
