Ray Edwards, Valley Councilman for District 3, has been elected to serve on the Executive Committee of the Alabama League of Municipalities in the Second Congressional District for 2007-08. The League was founded in 1935 to support Alabama communities and the Executive Committee is the presiding body that governs the League's work.
The League provides financing, insurance, budget planning, policy assistance and training to the thousands of city and state employees; of the 460 cities in the State of Alabama, 456 are members of the League.
The selection of Ray Edwards to the board is a very prestigious appointment and will allow Ray to help guide the destiny of the League, serve the City of Valley's government and represent the officials and employees of the City.
