The Valley City Council is pleased to announce that Michael Anthony Taylor was sworn in at the March 31st City Council meeting as the new Chief of Police for the City of Valley. Mr. Taylor is the former Chief of Police in Maricopa, California (Kern County), following service as the Police Chief in Huron, California.
Chief Taylor began his law enforcement career with the Richmond, California Police Department following a ten-year stint in the United States Marine Corps. During his career, he has received numerous commendations in both his civilian and military assignments. Chief Taylor possesses basic, intermediate, supervisory, and executive management certificates from the California Peace Officers Standards and Training Commission, as well as a college education from the University of Phoenix.
Chief Taylor has a demonstrated background in community policing, youth programs, crime prevention, community preparedness, and leadership training.
