December 11th City Council Meeting

The Valley City Council held its first regular scheduled meeting of December on Monday, December 11th, 2017, in the Council Chambers at Valley City Hall.

Mayor Leonard Riley called the meeting to order at 6:00PM. The invocation was given by Councilmember Paul Story and Councilmember Jim Jones led the Pledge of Allegiance.

Councilmember Lana Wiggins was absent.

The December 11th financial audit report for the city was given as follows:

  • Checking account previous balance.................. $5,508,366.46
  • Total deposits all funds............................................ $511,728.94
  • Total expenditures all funds.................................... $510,287.84
  • Total on-hand all funds......................................... $5,509,807.56

The following actions were taken by the city council at the December 11th meeting:

  • Approved the minutes from the November 27th, 2017, council meeting
  • Accepted the December 11th financial audit report
  • Approved unanimously the following resolutions on the Consent Agenda
    • Resolution 17-153R amending the FY 2017/2018 Operating Budget of the Valley Police Department by $9,441.25 for contributions from Ajin, Wooshin, Brumfield Electric and Back the Blue totaling $7,050 and from rebate for 2018 Calendars for $2,391
    • Resolution 17-154R amending the FY 2017/2018 Operating Budget of the Valley EMS Department by $1,750 for contributions from Ajin and Wooshin totaling $1,750
  • Suspended the rules and adopted on its first reading Ordinance 17-16 amending the City’s lease with West End Baptist Church for the use of the Valley City Park Ball Field for a period of 3 years beginning February 15, 2018 and ending February 14, 2018

Mayor Riley made the following announcement:

  • The next Council Meeting will be December 18th

The council meeting adjourned at 6:18PM.
